Project Overview

An E-verification 9 month campaign for USAID and Feed the Future aimed at increasing the use of high quality agricultural inputs in Uganda in 2016.

We were tasked with planning and implementing (design, production and dissemination of high quality materials) including monitoring and evaluation of the campaign, in close coordination with Ag Inputs staff, and other key stakeholders.

The campaign covered 38 districts  within Northern Uganda, Central Uganda (the Maize belt) and Southwest Uganda and utilized 4 core media channels to impact the target audience (i.e. radio, TV, newspapers and outdoor as well as utilizing relevant languages.

The campaign also featured a press launch,  road shows, expos, media storms and district competitions among Agro-dealers as well as surveys that included communications pre-testing and a post campaign survey which revealed that; over 2,000 people participated in the post-campaign research. Key findings revealed that 85% of the general public interviewed was engaged in agriculture with 71% being farmers; 66% said they bought agri-inputs such as seeds, fertilizers and chemicals; and 42% had heard of KAKASA from one media source or the other and their primary source of information was radio at 31%.
